Oxford Reading Tree is a reading programme that has been developed to teach children to read in finely graded, progressive stages. It provides stories and an extensive range of materials that support teachers in the delivery of all aspects of learning to read. These resources can be used to support individual reading and also group and whole class work

The core stories are about a group of characters, a family with a dog, and tell an ongoing story about the children`s lives; where they live, where they go to school, their activities and adventures, their achievements and mishaps. The very early stories deal with simple incidents with which most children are familiar. Humour is an important ingredient in the stories. When children discover the jokes and surprises in the story and illustrations they realise that books can be a real source of delight. There is no better motivation for learning to read than this

Oxford Reading Tree prides itself on its wide variety of fiction, designed not only to develop your children`s reading through a carefully levelled programme but also to engage and motivate even your most reluctant readers through fabulous stories, characters and illustrations.
